Naked Running and Neti Pots

Ahh, it felt wonderful to sleep in this morning!  Nyquil helped me sleep like a baby until 8am!

Now I am hydrating and getting mentally prepared for a half marathon in possible soaking rain.

First order of business....

Breathing!
I am addicted to the neti pot.  Hey, it's better then being addicted to heroin.

You gotta get both side.  That's a pretty good stream right there.

You should be impressed with my self portrait taking.

In 1 1/2 years of running, I have yet to have a total downpour race.

Tomorrow could be my first.
I'm getting my race day gear together this morning.

They use the reusable timing chips.  Hate them.  When you are ready to collapse at the finish line you have to unlace your shoe and turn in your timing chip before you get your medal.  Stupid.
Anyway, I'm trying to decide what I should wear to the race.  I need my two followers to vote between option 1 and 2.

Option 1:  Black running skirt
Option 2:  Nike Tempo shorts
Alright, go ahead and vote.  Cause if no one votes, I might just run naked in the rain.  Hey, that might actually get Doug out to a race to support me....

Happy Lazy Saturday!

Girls Gone Wild

Things are looking up!

Look who is in town...

Girls Gone Wild

I'm pretty sure they follow the blog, and read about our impromptu runners night out last weekend.  I mean, why else would they be one mile from my house?

That's not a cross above the bus.  That is the Burger King sign.
I'm pretty sure this picture was on the other side if the bus.

Wouldn't you agree?
I picked up our Heels and Hills race packets on the way home.  Kind of a cluster, but not too bad.  It's a smaller race so they do the best they can!

Technical shirt and personalized bib.  108.  Hopefully that is not how many times I will die during the race.
Now this is happening....

Shut up!  This is totally the perfect hydration plan for an upcoming half marathon.
Randee is on her way home from California.  Apparently little Brittany is in Arizona.  Talia is chasing the Girls Gone Wild bus.  However, come Sunday we will all be together.  Running in the rain.  How special.  Or stupid....I haven't decided yet.

A much happier Friday to ya!

Fri-FREAKIN'-Day

What a week.  So glad it is almost over.  We have our half marathon on Sunday.

Would you please look at Sunday.  70% chance of rain.
Now doesn't that sound fun?  13.1 miles in the rain.  According to the website they will delay or cancel for lighting and sever weather only.  Otherwise, the race goes on.

I have been  making love to my Nyquil bottle the past couple of days.  I'm stuffed up and my throat has been hurting.  I think it's better today.  I might even be able to breath for the race.  That is unless there is 100,000% humidity.

I'm thinking this might go down as the most boring post in history.

I've got nothing exciting to say about the royal wedding, speedy runs or the such.

Oh well, stay tuned for the Heels and Hills Half race review on Sunday afternoon.  Will it be a bitch fest or a love fest?  There is no tellin'.

Happy Fri-FREAKIN'-Day!

Whine and Wine Wednesday

I hope you're comfortable.  My whine list is long.

Whine:

The network at work has been down all week.  Makes working hard.  It makes blogging at work impossible.  Boo!  Not only am I behind in posting, but I am way behind in reading.

I usually find reading blogs on my phone to be a pain in the butt.  And I can never get a comment to post when I'm on my phone.

Today I discovered Pulse and so far I love it.  I can read all my blogs much easier!  I'm not sure about the commenting yet.
It is TAKS week in Texas.  This is our school state assessment.  It makes my job stressful.  It makes my kids expect a hot breakfast in the morning before school.  When you have to be at work by 7am this is quite a challenge.

Mother of the year right there.  Scrambled eggs and cinnamon toast.  I'm not sure Audrie was even awake yet.
I'm bloated.  I'm constipated.  I'm dehydrated.  I'm 10 pounds heavier then my happy weight.  Today I ordered a couple of marathon training nutrition books.  I don't want to cut calories too much while training, but I have got to get my eating back under control.

I did get lots of compliments on this outfit I wore on Tuesday.
Last night Trent broke off one arm of his glasses.  I really have no idea if it's called an arm, but that piece that connects the lens to your ear.  He broke that.  Then when I picked him up from school he had broken the other side off.  So we were off to get those fixed since he is blind and has TAKS tomorrow.  Luckily I only had to pay 1/2 price for the frames and they were able to reshape the old lenses.

Oh yes, and Randee is out of town all week.  I have not worked out.  I have slept late (if you call 5:45am late).  I have gone to bed early (I'm sure you call 8:00pm early).  And you know what?  I am grumpy.  I am tired.  I am ready for my bitchy friend to be home!!

Wine:

Well, today should actually be Whine and Mango Margarita Wednesday.  But it just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Wile we were waiting on Trent's glasses I took the kids to Chili's for dinner.

:
This mango margarita was on happy hour special and quite tasty.
I also stuffed my face with chips and salsa.  I seriously love their salsa. I had the Caribbean salad for dinner.  It was 'meh'.  Basically a head of iceberg lettuce with some chicken and dried cranberries.  I don't like iceberg lettuce and I don't like dried fruit.

Looks like I"m still whining.  I did stop by Ross on my way home from work and enjoyed my own fashion show in the dressing room.

I liked this one but thought it might be a bit too young for old me.

I got this shirt.  I love the ruching on the sides.  Makes you look skinny!

Nope.  This one just hung weird.

Nope.  This one was see trough on the boobs and clingy on the butt.

I got this one.  I love the kimono style dresses.  Now I need some cool shoes to wear with it.
This is what I wore to work today.
So we have the half marathon on Sunday.  From now till then I vow to my two faithful blog readers to:

1.  Hydrate
2.  Wake up tomorrow morning and do yoga.  All. By. Myself.
3.  Quite bitching.

Happy Whine and Wine Mango Margarita Wednesday!

P.S. Number 3 is a joke.

What's your wine and wine (or margarita) of the week?

Redneck Easter

And moving on to Easter Sunday.....

The family always goes to my parent's house for lunch and an Easter egg hunt.  My grandparents started this tradition when we were little.

This year Trent decided he was to old to hunt eggs, so he did the hiding.

Audrie and Alaurie did the hunting.
Alecia from Tin Can Treader did the drinkin'.
Doug screamed like a girl when he found this instead of an egg...

We were all looking at this enormous spider when it slithered down into its hole.  Nasty!
Then Alecia had the wild idea to have a family egg toss contest.

Me and my uncle got 2nd place.  I'm pretty sure my cousin and nephew were playing with a hard boiled egg.
The adorable Braden.
Mom got these sexy glasses for the kids.  We decided they looked better on us.
We have the traditional Easter Pinata.  Well, we did.  This year dad goofed.  He got what looked like a Pinata, but there is no place to put the candy.

So he gave it to Audrie.  And I had to drive home with this scary Hannah Montana looking thing next to me.  I got lots of crazy looks on the highway.
Doug had the bright idea to ride his motorcycle instead of in the car with us.
It is about an hour drive back home.

There were storm clouds and lighting all around us most of the way home.
Thankfully we made it home without even a sprinkle.  Tornado Watches were in effect about 5 miles West of us for several miles.

After putting the kids to bed, Doug and I set outside drinking wine and watching the storms for a couple of hours.  It was a perfect way to end a great weekend!

Randee is out of town this week, so I'm sure there will be little training leading up to our half on Sunday.  We should be tapering anyway, right?  I guess you could say we have  been tapering since our last half on March 27th.  Oh well.  We will run.  We will finish.  We will have fun!  Oh yes, and Randee will bitch.

The Cool Kids

Did we have a weekend?

I was so crazy busy I didn't notice.  It was a very enjoyable weekend, but booked from top to bottom.  I have so many pictures and things to share I'm gonna have to do two posts.

Let's start with Friday shall we.

Doug was replacing the hot water heater.  Yeah, the one that leaked all into my master closet.

I was there for moral support.  It was crazy hot.  I think right around 90.
Between the two of us, we made about 900 trips to Home Depot before the day was done.

For exciting things like Nipples.

While there I picked up some inspiration for my summer remodeling project (s).  I'm gonna be busy!
I'm thinking we ended the night with wine, but I really can't remember.

It was rainy Saturday morning so we skipped our long run.  Or was it that we were lazy?  I can't remember that either.  But I do know we did not run.

However, I did get my hair did.

I had never set under the steamer before, but I kinda liked it.
The hair do.  Don't mind the crazy eyes.  I think the steamer messed with my sanity.
Then this picture status on Facebook....

Ready for a pool party.
Led to this....

Runners gone wild.
We had an impromptu runners night out.

Wine and Legs.
A bunch of nasty runner's feet.  We all had pink toenails.  Or at least pink skin.  Randee is missing a few toenails at the moment so she just painted some on.
Doug crashed our party.

He loves hanging with the ladies.  We love him keeping our wine glasses full.
Brittany couldn't come because she was hanging out with her less cool friends.  So we proceeded to have a "We're having more fun then you are!" photo text war.

Just another wild Saturday night.
I would post pictures of Brittany and her uncool friends, but none of them were blog appropriate.  Perverts I tell ya!  I'm pretty sure we won.

Seriously, could anyone have more fun then this?
We had a great time, and got in bed just in time for the Easter Bunny to arrive!
