Girls Gone Wild

Things are looking up!

Look who is in town...

Girls Gone Wild

I'm pretty sure they follow the blog, and read about our impromptu runners night out last weekend.  I mean, why else would they be one mile from my house?

That's not a cross above the bus.  That is the Burger King sign.
I'm pretty sure this picture was on the other side if the bus.

Wouldn't you agree?
I picked up our Heels and Hills race packets on the way home.  Kind of a cluster, but not too bad.  It's a smaller race so they do the best they can!

Technical shirt and personalized bib.  108.  Hopefully that is not how many times I will die during the race.
Now this is happening....

Shut up!  This is totally the perfect hydration plan for an upcoming half marathon.
Randee is on her way home from California.  Apparently little Brittany is in Arizona.  Talia is chasing the Girls Gone Wild bus.  However, come Sunday we will all be together.  Running in the rain.  How special.  Or stupid....I haven't decided yet.

A much happier Friday to ya!

Three Thrills Thursday

Workout:  Nada.  My back was achy. It was a Jillian Michaels day.  I wimped out and slept in.  Where the heck is my motivation?

Thrill 1:

I need to be here...

Scooby Doo!
Not necessarily there exactly.  But on a beach somewhere.  Where the sun is shining.  Where the water is blue.  An open bar doesn't hurt either.  (Scooby Doo is a tasty adult beverage with Malibu Rum and who knows what else.)

Thrill 2:

We have a strange Easter tradition in my family.  Pinatas.

My grandmother's first try at a Pinata.  You might be a redneck if...
Thrill 3:

I highly recommend a trip to Napa Valley if you dig the wine.  Nice romantic get-a-way.  Let me tell you a little secret.  Book the private tastings.  You get the royal treatment....and more wine!

Look how I color coordinated with the sign.  Fancy.
We have Audrie's Wax Museum at school tonight.  Then it will be Friday!  And then the weekend!  Whoop!  Whoop!

Sunday brings....

You have NO idea how excited I am for that race report!

Happy Thursday Y'all!

What's your thrill of the day?

We're Freakin' Famous!

Workout:  Yogilates.  Well, kinda.  My back is still jacked so my form was all to hell.  But I tried.

I'm pretty sure that Oprah will be calling anytime now.  SkinnyRunner would be the running world blog queen.  We were featured as her Cat Lady Blog of the day.  Oh yeah.  Check out all the awesome things she I wrote about us.

Major user error was causing me to not be able to print screen.  So being the genius I am, I took a picture of the screen with my iPhone.  Hence the reason for the crappy quality.
I got this text from Talia and her sexy legs while I was at work.

Focus on today's conversation.  Not us talking about her sexy chicken legs.
Anywho, I was on my way out the door to get my super tight hammies rubbed.

Ahh, the adorable Cynthia and her magic hands.
I really think we should have a girls night out at Cynthia's shop.  Massages and facials for everyone.  Heck, we could even get drunk and all do Brazilian bikini waxes on each other!
My rub down was marvelous.  The hammies are still tight, but do feel better.

Then it was off to pick up the little people from school.

All this construction was messing with my relaxation.
The kids were in great moods.

I'm sure she was saying "Mom you're super cool."
Trent thought it was Christmas when he got to the front door and found this....

The new Nerds book.
He keeps trying to read the book to me out loud.  "Mom this is seriously the best book ever."  Um, I'm sure it is.  But your mom is kinda famous now and has a very important blog post to write.

Blogging snack of champions.  Nut Thins.  Havarti cheese.  Broccoli.  Tomatoes.  Sausage.  Hummus.  Riesling.
I really did eat more then one cheery tomato and one spear of broccoli.  I thought I was starving to death and sucked down half the plate before I stopped to take a picture.  That was also a new container of hummus.  Don't judge.  It's normal to eat one entire container a night.

What the hell ever happed to Randee you ask?

She is at home bitchin' about something I'm sure.
I called to tell her we were famous.  She has even agreed to make a guest appearance on the blog again sometime soon.  I refuse to let her quit running.  She will run with me.  And she will like it.

That's all I got for today.  Tune in tomorrow for Whine and Wine Wednesday.  I got tons to whine about.  Oh, and of course there will be wine!  The purple section is stocked and ready to go.  I think a good night of foam rolling and sippin' wine sounds fun.

Happy Tuesday!

Whine and Wine Wednesday

Workout:  1 mile @ 10:39 pace / 2 miles @ 8:50 pace.  This was our first run together since the half.  See whine below for more details.

My whine for this Wednesday....

My running partner Randee ran her first half a couple of weeks ago when we did the Rock 'n' Roll Dallas Half.  She did awesome by the way.  But from the middle of the race until a few days after the race her stomach and digestive system were not happy with her.

This is the last %&!@* race I'm ever running.
Why is this my whine?  Because she is losing her motivation to run based on that race.  We have a half coming up on May 1st and she is already mentally checking out and dreading it.  She can totally rock that race.  I'm selfish.  I don't want to lose my running partner!  I'm hopeful that the Heels and Hills Half will be fantastic and she will be all about running again!

And what about the wine you ask.....

I'm debating.  I took my kids to a fundraiser for an ill teacher at Freddy's after work.   I had no intentions of consuming 6000 calories while I was there.  But.....

I ordered a bun-less double meat hamburger and fries.
And drank a few sips of Root Beer.  I never drink soda.

And if that was not enough calories for one meal.  I was helping the kids order a 'make your own sundae' and decided I could not live without having this...

Hot Fudge Sundae with pecans, heath bar and whip cream.
So I'm really not sure I have any room left for wine.  Such a travesty.

However, last night I did try a new purchase from our weekend Costco trip.

Very tasty.  $10ish I think.  That is usually the price point I go for.
I got many compliments on my outfit today.

Yeah, I have no idea what this pose is about.  I'll blame it on all the sugar and grease I consumed at dinner.
Thankfully no one seemed to notice my pasty white legs, toenails in need of a major pedicure and...

Nasty, dirty unfixed hair.
Happy Whine and Wine Wednesday!

What's your whine and wine for the week?

Lazy Does It

4 weeks to race day!
This is the updated training plan.  Starts tomorrow at 4:30am!
I got home around midnight last night, after being gone since Wednesday morning.  Lazy has been the main theme of the day.

Coffee and facebook in bed was the first order of business.

Then a long bath with this goop on my face.
Doug and I went out to lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary a day early.

Come on Doug, mamma's hungry.
I inhaled about 3/4 of this before Doug got his chopsticks ready.
April 4, 1998
13 years later...

I was not blogging at lunch so Doug was loving me again.
Then we did a quick stop by Costco for some wine.

Hot damn.  Look at all that wine.  The purple section is almost full!
My house is a disaster.  It will just have to wait until tomorrow.  For today I am blogging and drinking wine.

Or I was....

While writing this blog I went to take a drink of my Riesling and there was a bug in my glass.  Boo!

Check out Blond Ponytail's Blog.  She is having a great give-a-way.
Happy Sunday!
Any thoughts on our updated training plan?

Do you like sushi?

Birthday Spankings!

winToday's is my hubby's birthday.  Let's take a moment to look at why I love him so.

1.  He picks good wine.  Let's not get started on the fact I'm not allowed to drink most of it.
How could you not love this face?
2.  He is so darn sexy.

They asked him to be on Bay Watch.  I can't believe he turned them down.
This is a repeat from a previous post.  But really, could you ever get sick of looking at this picture?

3. He is a great dad.

Peace Daaaddddyyyy!
Like father like son.
4.  He keeps me smiling

The poor kids.  I think they were holding Doug and me up.
And because you can never have too many pictures....

Um yeah, I have no idea what is going on here.

A typical Saturday morning.  Naked Doug playing guitar.

Sexy beast and his bike.
If drinking and texting, ALWAYS wear a helmet for safety.

Happy Birthday Doug.  I love you!

Leave some love and birthday wishes for Doug!  He would prefer spankings, but will still be happy you did!
