Whine and Wine Wednesday

Marathon Training Week 11 - Day 3

We have decided to switch up our weekly plan a little bit.  It now looks like this:

Monday - Yogiltes
Tuesday - 3-5 miles at race pace
Wednesday - Cross Training - Jillian Michaels 'No More Trouble Zones'
Thursday - Speed Work (tempo, hill repeats, intervals, etc.)
Friday - Yoga / Cross Training - Jillian Michaels 'Yoga Meltdown'
Saturday - Long Run
Sunday - Rest (sometimes we have to switch Sat. & Sun. due to schedules)

Now that Wednesday is 'let Jillian make you cry' day, I'll never be without something to whine about on Whine and Wine Wednesday!

I was auditioning to be the new letter flipper for Wheel of Fortune this morning.  I'm pretty sure Pat Sajak will be calling anytime now.

We all know Randee loves a good Jillian beatin' so she was all smiles this morning.
Today's 4:30am conditions look no different than any other horribly hot Texas morning.
However, we were both sweating like knocked up nuns.  Seriously, we both stripped down to our sports bras within the first ten minutes.  It was RIDICULOUS, and sexy with our muffin tops and saggy bellies just floppin' around!  This video has you up, down, around and on your head.  Our mats were both soaked.  Why?  I don't understand why it was so horribly hard to breath today and we were sweating buckets.

Oh well, we survived another day.

Whine:

Well, I guess technically I was already whining.  So let's continue...

My kids are going crazy!

This is a common scene around the house these days!
I  love summer break.  I'm very skilled at gettin' my lazy on.  However, the kids are board out of their minds.  It's too hot to play outside.  They get board of playing together.  Blah, blah, blah.  Today we are going furniture shopping for Audrie's room.   I have bribed them with an ice cream treat if I don't have to beat them while we're out and about.  We'll see how that goes!

You have already heard me whine about the heat, so I guess I can just pass over that one.
Here's the forecast just in case you were wondering.  And let me add, we haven't had any rain in like 974 days. (That number might be a bit of an exaggeration.)
Enough whining...let's get to the good stuff!

WINE!:

I think the purple section is slim pickings again.  We can sure move through some wine during summer...and winter, spring and fall...around this house.  We love to have friends over on the weekends around the pool, and wine flows freely around here!

I have been good on my eating plan all week, but I'm pretty sure ediets would be okay with me having a glass of wine for Whine and Wine Wednesday.  Really, it would be a crime not to.

Since I have no good wine stories for today, I'll send you over to Cheetahs in Training.  These ladies like to get their wine on as much as I do!

Oh yes, I just created a BitchyRunners twitter account.  Maybe one day soon I'll figure out how to upload our profile picture.  Go on over there and follow us.  Thanks.

Happy Whine and Wine Wednesday!

What's your whine and wine for the week?

  2. Ah hell, so the kids continue to fight like that even as they get older... damn!

I love Jillian even if she makes me swear... I need to incorporate her more often.

You're jumping on the twitter bandwagon... wah, I may have to sign up.

  4. I love that you guys only run 3 days a week and cross train so much! That is exactly what I plan to do while training for my half. I know if I tried to run more than that I would get injured and probably die.

I'm also doing some Jillian, I'm doing Ripped in 30 right now and I hate it, but I love it, if you know what I mean!

  5. This DVD, along with 30 Day Shred and Boost Metabolism, is hard. But after every workout I feel AMAZING. Yes, I'm exhausted, sweaty, and my muscles are aching and trembling, but I feel energized and sharper mentally. I exercise five days a week, alternating workout videos, and take the weekends "off", during which I find I now have more energy to do everything from working in the garden to running around theme parks. I'm actually sleeping better too.
