120 Hour Rewind

Hold on folks.  We are about to do a quick rewind from this morning's workout all the way back to Thursday evening.  Hold on tight...here we go...

Monday morning at 4:45am - Marathon Training Day 1.  3 miles at 9:52 pace.  Our goal pace was 10:00, so we were basically right on the money.  It was in t he 70's and extremely humid.  We were both sweating like whores in church.

Day one of training...smiling at this point.  Check back with me in a couple of months.
Already bitchy and it's only day one.
Sunday was Mother's Day...just in case you did not know that.  Anyway, we spent the afternoon at my parent's house.  It was super.

My lovely parents cooked up a delish feast.
Four generations of fantastic women right there.
I considered this my personal bowl of peel and eat shrimp.  Love that stuff!

We were having crawfish, but apparently Doug thought we were smoking doobies.
I was gagging and showing off all my wrinkles.
Alecia was trying to pierce her nose.
I got Alecia from Tin Can Treader this kickbutt wine glass for Mother's Day.  The other side says Loverboy.
Sunday morning was fantastic!

This tray was delivered to my bed.

Courtesy of Audrie.  She made toast and coffee all by herself.  Then Trent wrote me a poem and Audrie made me a card.  She even adorned the tray with my flower from the Mom's Run.
Saturday night I had a lazy night at home sippin' wine and reading.

I finished this book.  Super enjoyed it.  Expect a book review soon.
Saturday Afternoon I had a marvelous massage and facial from Cynthia.

This picture is from a previous massage, but I'm sure I looked just the same lying there.

The gorgeous Cynthia.
Saturday morning Trent and I ran the Mom's Run.  You can read the race review here.

We had a great time, and ran the 5K in under 30 minutes.  Whoot.
Friday night Doug and I went out with some friends to Empa Mundo.  It was a hole in the wall and was great.

The empanadas were not gluten free.  I cut them open and ate the filling.  However, they told me if I gave them advance notice, they would make me gluten free ones next time.  Awesome!
There was definitely lots of great wine going around.  Tom & Martha tasting the Riesling.
Jim and I were chatting about scuba diving and sippin' on something red and delicious.
The owner serenaded us with a couple of songs.
Then Doug took a turn on the guitar.
Thursday night Randee and I had an impromptu Cinco de Mayo celebration.  I only had an hour while the kids were at drum and piano lessons.  Don't all good mom's gulp down margaritas while waiting on their kids?

Those things were super cheap, super strong and super yummy.
I was responsible and only had one.
We took a quick self portrait in the parking lot and then we were off to be moms again.
There you have it.  The past 120 hours of my life.  Now you can go on about your day.

Happy Monday!

Three Thrills Thursday

Workout:  By golly, we actually ran 3 miles this morning.  10:15 pace.

Here is your blurry proof.

Yeah, basically we both suck at on the move photography.

I know you wanted a little spandex crotch shot, so here you go.

Randee giving you a little chest action.  Please notice the Nike running skirt some kick butt friend got her (me of course!) at Ross for $7!

Apparently both of us rubbed our faces in vegetable oil before running this morning.
Wow, all of that and we haven't even got to the thrills yet!

Thrill 1:

I need a beach vacation STAT!  Even the disgusting Texas coast will do.

We had a great time at Crystal Beach when were there in November.

I love this picture!

This one was cool enough to make it onto our Christmas card!

Thrill 2:

Snorkeling is fun in Mexico.  I don't recommend snorkeling at the Texas coast.  Yuck!

Snorkeling in Cancun.  I'm the one on the left.  Attractive, I know.
Thrill 3:

I enjoyed my relaxing Whine and Wine Wednesday last night.  I put on a face mask.  Got in my pajamas.  Read blogs.  Oh yes, and drank Riesling.  Doug got home late.  The kids....I'm sure they were fine.  They were playing in the street or something....

Ahh, the good life.
Today is like a quadruple bonus day!  I've got a couple of more pictures to share.

Audrie was super excited about wearing her Mexican dress to her Cinco de Mayo celebration at school today.  Or at least I'm sure she will be as soon as she wakes up.

I ran in my "other" pair of Asics this morning.  I can't remember which type they are, but they are the pair I usually wear for cross training.  They felt pretty good.  You're welcome for the high definition picture of my hairy, pasty legs.
That's all I have for today.  Oh yes, and the waterproof camera pics will be picked up after work today.  Heels and Hills race review tomorrow.  I promise.

Have a Thrilling Thursday!

An Unproper Race Report

Heels and Hills Half Marathon

We ran.

Look at Randee all kinds of crackhead happy.
May I add my husband mentioned my wide hips in the image above.  Thanks honey.

We finished.

70 degrees at the start of the race.  50 degrees at the finish.
We had a rain delay.

We had a shortened course due to weather.

A proper race review to come.  For now I still can't breath.

I really am this pleasant to be around at the moment.

I think I need more netti pot! You can never have enough netti pot.
I leave you with this psycho image I thought was too ridiculous yesterday, but seems perfect right now.

The Cool Kids

Did we have a weekend?

I was so crazy busy I didn't notice.  It was a very enjoyable weekend, but booked from top to bottom.  I have so many pictures and things to share I'm gonna have to do two posts.

Let's start with Friday shall we.

Doug was replacing the hot water heater.  Yeah, the one that leaked all into my master closet.

I was there for moral support.  It was crazy hot.  I think right around 90.
Between the two of us, we made about 900 trips to Home Depot before the day was done.

For exciting things like Nipples.

While there I picked up some inspiration for my summer remodeling project (s).  I'm gonna be busy!
I'm thinking we ended the night with wine, but I really can't remember.

It was rainy Saturday morning so we skipped our long run.  Or was it that we were lazy?  I can't remember that either.  But I do know we did not run.

However, I did get my hair did.

I had never set under the steamer before, but I kinda liked it.
The hair do.  Don't mind the crazy eyes.  I think the steamer messed with my sanity.
Then this picture status on Facebook....

Ready for a pool party.
Led to this....

Runners gone wild.
We had an impromptu runners night out.

Wine and Legs.
A bunch of nasty runner's feet.  We all had pink toenails.  Or at least pink skin.  Randee is missing a few toenails at the moment so she just painted some on.
Doug crashed our party.

He loves hanging with the ladies.  We love him keeping our wine glasses full.
Brittany couldn't come because she was hanging out with her less cool friends.  So we proceeded to have a "We're having more fun then you are!" photo text war.

Just another wild Saturday night.
I would post pictures of Brittany and her uncool friends, but none of them were blog appropriate.  Perverts I tell ya!  I'm pretty sure we won.

Seriously, could anyone have more fun then this?
We had a great time, and got in bed just in time for the Easter Bunny to arrive!
