Marathon Training Week 5 - Day 4

Today called for letting Jillian Michaels kick our butts, and she was successful.  We took the torture out by the pool.  For some reason a hot breeze makes the pain hurt less.

I'm guessing Randee has a Mary Kay job interview today dressed all in pink.

This is my unsuccessful attempt at modeling the pool fountain.

Are you ready for your weekly thrills?

Thrill 1:

Last night for dinner I made tilapia and black beans.  I don't know how trilling that is for you, but it was pretty darn good.

Black beans with tomatoes, feta cheese and fresh cilantro.

Baked tilapia with honey lime dressing.

Thrill 2:

I'm married to a 13  year old boy in a 44 year old man's body.

He tries to make out with me in public places.

He makes goofy faces when I am clearly NOT in the mood.

He rocks out with his air guitar.

However, he does keep life fun and interesting. 

And every once in a while we dress up and act like adults.

Thrill 3:

My boobs sag to my knees.  It's a sad fact, but true.

I figured you would appreciate it if I did not show you a picture of my saggy boobs.  Instead you can look at my pink toes and the view I had for a few hours yesterday.  I love summer!

I have a great blog in the works.  I can't wait to post it!  I'll leave you with a text from Cheri that made me giggle.  I was doing some very scientific research and sent a text to a few friends that said, "what is something you never want to hear your man say?"

Marathon Training Week 3 - Day 4

Thursday = Jillian Michaels Beat Down.

Randee thought we were taking pictures to submit to Playboy magazine.  Come to momma!

I had a mouth full of protein bar, so I was trying to smile and not choke.

Jillian once again succeeded at kicking our butts.  Lunges.  Planks.  Squats.  Blah, Blah, Blah.  It all sucks.  Hopefully our butts and thighs will thank us later!

I'm rockin' my SkinnyRunner shirt today.

I'm off work this morning to attend Trent's awards ceremony at school.  That means I get to enjoy some blog time and coffee before having to get dressed.

Udi's gluten free bread with peanut butter and blueberry jelly...oh yes and coffee in a monkey cup!

Thrill 1:

According to facebook and my husband, the Dallas Mavericks are doing good.

They have made it to the next round of the NBA playoffs, whatever round that might be.  I realize it would be super easy to look that info up, but that is way more effort then I wish to exert this early in the morning.

Ms. Thang is a fan, as her facebook profile pic shows.

My friend Cheri (you will learn more about her in a minute) is a HUGE fan.

I couldn't find a picture of her in Mav's attire, so I thought this one of her gettin' down on the dance floor was the next best thing.

Thrill 2:

I don't highlight my non-running friends enough.  I'll introduce you to two of them today.

Both ladies are neighbors and good, fun friends.

Thrill 3:

This Monday is Memorial Day.  You know what that means?

Just returned from a long weekend in Fredericksburg, Texas.  Doug and I went with Chuck and Cheri and many good times were had.

Whine and Wine Wednesday!

Workout:  1 mile warm up at 10:00 pace / 3 miles at 9:20ish pace / .5 mile cool down walk

Can you believe it is already Wednesday?  Awesomeness.

Let me see what I have to whine about this week.

Weather? 

Nope, it has been BE-U-TIFUL in Texas!

Husband?  

Nope, he has been on his best behavior with it being Valentines week and all!

Kids?

Nope, they have been relatively good this week considering they started Monday with insane amounts of sugar at their V-Day parties!

Hamstring?  

Nope, knock on wood Mr. Hammy has been behaving very well!

 Running.....

We have actually had a very good week so far with our workouts.  My main whine is why I can't run as fast as other people!  We run around 10 minute miles.  I can knock out a few miles in the low 9's.  I can run one mile around 8.  But why can't I run faster for longer distance?  What makes one person so much faster than another?  Hmmm...I'm going to go pout now!

I wonder if they are accepting new members?

Wine, oh glorious wine!

Still at work so sippin' on water for now.  Tonight I will definitely have a glass or two of the purple stuff!  My friend Cheri's daughter is in labor right now having her first child.

Cheri is one sexy grandma don't you think!

After work I will go see the new baby (surely for Jordyn's sake, he will be here by then!) and then come home and drink two huge glasses of wine in Baby Gavyn's honor.  Isn't that what any good friend would do?
