Yesterday was supposed to be yoga. In reality we slept in and rested our bodies from the 16 mile run the day before. Sunday runs make Monday morning hard!
Today called for 5 miles at race pace. In reality we did three miles at snail pace.

I had a great job. I made decent money. I had an amazing view of a PGA golf course out of my wall of windows. But I wasn't being challenged. Something was missing. I was living very securely within my comfort zone!

I truly believe that we have to learn to leap outside of our comfort zone in all areas of our life to discover our true potential. Will you fail? Maybe. Will it be scary? Probably. Will it be hard? Definitely.

Oh my gosh ... I can't fill in the blank with my initial answer. I mean not that I believe my initial thought - I just temporarily channeled Samuel L Jackson I think.

ReplyDeleteI'm the farthest from an AM workout person....you guys do it all the time b/c, duh, you're badass. But last week I did a Wed nite class and Thur did 6am group training...loved it! Why didn't I get over myself and go to early AM workout before now?!?! That was me out of my comfort zone. Now I'm badass, ha! :)
Congrats on the job!!
ReplyDeleteListening to your body is so important. Good call on rest days and shorter runs when hell is envious of the heat.
This post totally resonates with me. I have been stepping out of my comfort zone, ever since I walked away from a secure job, at entry-level, and moved to Austin, where I only know Melissa and it has been intense. But, I know this was the right move. Congrats on stepping out of that comfort zone. Comfort is boring - excitement comes from challenges.
